Well, here goes nothing
By Dustin on March 17, 2009 3:50 PM
After tweaking around with a bunch of stuff today, I think this site is finally ready for release. Unfortunately though, comments are still being a bitch. This means that, at least for now, comments will be disabled site-wide. The problem is roughly half design integration and half technical mishap (which I just don't want to deal with looking into atm).
For those of you that are curious, Repine is currently being powered by MovableType. What can I say? It's what I know and what I like - with the exception of their retarded licensing restrictions nowadays. Due to those licenses, as well as my complete inexperience with WordPress, Repine will remain a single-user blog for now. Yes, that means me, and only me, will be posting to this blog - at least until I can learn WordPress. Trust me, I'll eventually learn that one (or a similar program)... I just don't have the time or focus at this moment.
Feel free to poke around a bit. There have been some major changes to the way some information was presented in the past versus how it's presented now. For example, the "domain" link above takes you to the about page, which contains both: the technical details behind the site, as well as a general written history of repine.net. The "dustin" link, on the other hand, will take you to a page about me, where you can actually learn more about me than just simply my last name or age. Basically, I just took the styles of a few personal blog sites around, then smashed them into one. As with all violent explosions, some things got fused together and stuck around, while others got completely obliterated and are nowhere to be found.
Well, I guess that'll be all for now. I still gotta change a couple settings to get the site published to the actual domain (instead of a super secret testing subdirectory), so I'll first take care of those. Then I'll poke around myself a bit to see if anything broke in the transition out of the testing directory. If it did, I'll either fix it or temporarily lock those mishaps out. If you run across anything that seems broken, take a gander to the Contact page and let me know!
I'll post a blog about my adventures in that place called life later. For now, I just want to get this show on the road!
The views and comments expressed on this site are those of their respective author and do not necessarily reflect those of anyone else. If you don't like them, you can go away. I never forced you to come here.
